Halloumi Fries Recipe

Halloumi Fries have been all the rage the past few years, even being part of fast food menus at big restaurant chains, so they are obviously here to stay!

We came across this great recipe from Olive Magazine (link is below).

Ingredients

  • for frying oil
  • 2 blocks halloumi, cut into fat chips
  • 1 tsp sumac
  • 1/2 tsp ras el hanout
  • 100ml natural yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp pomegranate molasses
  • 100g pomegranate seeds
  • a handful mint, chopped
 
 

Method

  • STEP 1

    Heat a shallow pool of oil in a large frying pan. Thoroughly pat the halloumi dry before adding to the pan and cook, turning until golden brown on all sides.

     
  • STEP 2

    Tip into a bowl, add the sumac and toss.

     
  • STEP 3

    Mix the ras el hanout with the yogurt and season with salt.

     
  • STEP 4

    Put the fries on a platter, drizzle over the yogurt and pomegranate molasses then sprinkle with pomegranate seeds and mint. Eat immediately.
